RHS Marching Band Performance Evaluation

2019 Performance MSBOA

MSBOA Marching Band Festival - Everyone complete by 10/16/20.
1) Watch the performance and give yourself a score on the rubric below.  2) Follow the link to the next step - submit marching band music performance scores.

    Performance Rubric

Grade yourself in the following areas using the following rubric.  Type a NUMERIC SCORE in each box. Your points should total no more than 100.  Feel free to support your assessment in writing in the box (optional) if you think the director may score you lower.
    Always: 19-20 (A)                Usually 17-18 (B)                    Sometimes 15-16 (C)                  Rarely: 12-14 (D)                     Never: 0-10 (E)

My marching was accurate as compared to the original drill with very few mistakes. My direction changes and horn moves were crisp and in time and my feet were in step the entire time. My posture was tall and strong the entire time performance. I maintained equal-distance spacing with those around me the entire performance.

I had all my materials for the performance, including the correct uniform attire.

I prepared my music at home so that I could contribute to all prior rehearsals.  I keep practicing until I perfect it, and I did this as soon as possible.  I practice at home the things I made mistakes on in class so that I won’t make them the next rehearsal. (Dynamics, correct notes, articulations, rhythms, intonation, tone quality all contribute to this score).

I contributed to the large group performance by matching intonation, articulation, tone quality, and balance/blend with the rest of the ensemble.  My marching was adjusted if the form called for me to “fit” to the ensemble.

I acted with the best behavior possible for the performance setting adhering to my school’s expectations of behavior.   I was responsible for my own behavior and encouraged others to do the same.  My performance etiquette was also outstanding.
